St. Andrew's Resource Centre Hosts Pre-Budget Social Protection Meeting

12 Oct 2012

St. Andrew's Resource Centre was pleased to once again host the Department of Social Protection's pre-budget meeting. As part of the meeting 31 voluntary and community organisations had the opportunity to address their issues and concerns to Minister for Social Protection Joan Burton.

As part of the meeting the Minister stated: "We are committed to maintaining the basic, core social welfare rates that we're committed to reforming social welfare so that people who are currently unemployed and claiming social welfare, if we get them back to work, every time that happens, it saves the State at least €200 a week and then they start to pay tax,".
